ABOUT EZZANI INTERVENTIONS

Ezzani Interventions (EII) grew out of the belief that a person is best able to experience the world when they can understand and manage their learning and behavior. EII has been dedicated to finding strategic solutions to service families who have children with exceptional behavior and academic needs. There are many families out there trying to figure out how to navigate a school district or regional center. Many of the families we serve trusted the school to do what was right for their child, only to find out their child was not provided the right kind of help. Other families feel bullied or intimidated by IEP team members. With EII, families get the information they need to advocate for their son or daughter effectively. We will walk you through each step of the IEP, 504 Plan, or IPP process, explain what each step means with regard to your legal rights and your child’s placement, document your concerns, and attend meetings to help you discuss the best placement for your child.

International clients call on EII because their son or daughter have delays and there is a severe lack of quality clinical services in their country, such as: screening tools and effective treatment options for people with developmental disabilities including autism. In addition, there is negative social stigma in many countries associated with mental disability or any type of learning/behavior disorder. EII will immediately provide a team of immigration attorneys and service providers, and walk clients through the process every step of the way.

ABOUT JAMILA

Jamila Ezzani, the owner of Ezzani Interventions, got her start in public education at Arcadia Unified School District in California. Since her time there, she had the pleasure to learn from veteran special education teachers, meet hundreds of students with special needs, and see firsthand how powerful a school can be when there is strong collaboration between the school, parents, and community. During this time, she worked with students who had diagnoses such as ADD, ADHD, autism, emotional disturbance, and Down syndrome. While many teachers found this work to be hard, Jamila simply fell in love with the prospect of discovering the best way to meet her students’ individual needs.  She returned to school in 2009 to obtain a second teaching credential in Mild to Moderate Disabilities, two post-baccalaureate certifications in Autism and Applied Behavior Analysis, and Masters in Special Education (with an Autism emphasis).

In addition to her work with EII, Jamila also enjoys community service and has sat as a board member for The Parliament of the World's Religions (Southern California Chapter) and is a mentor for Big Brother Big Sister in Pasadena. William W. Asbury, the Board of Directors Chair for the Golden Key International Honor Society, noted Jamila's commitment to service during her induction ceremony, stating: "It is only fitting that a top academic achiever like Jamila be recognized by Golden Key. Our members are inspired and motivated not only to achieve exceptional academic accomplishments but also to make a positive impact on our world through the Society's commitment to service." Wherever she goes, Jamila Ezzani holds to the belief that everyone has different gifts to offer the world and ALL of these gifts are important (regardless of what the dominant standards of society promote!).
